Ricky Rozay explained that he put himself in the shoes of a film director while he was creating the album because he wanted to make a bold statement with the record and develop a story to run behind his music. “’God Forgives, I Don’t.’ First and foremost, the title, I wanted to approach it like let’s say Scorsese would have approached a film. Scorsese might influence the rapper in the future as Ross explained that he’s currently considering making an attempt at directing a film and he’ll borrow from the director’s style if his dream becomes a reality. “I think when you dope, man, that’s going to happen. It’s just like when I fulfill one of my dreams and start directing film one day, I’m going to bite Scorsese angles. I’m going to use the Scorsese lens. I think if you great within yourself, you take that, you ain’t even tripping,” said Ross.…
