Shania Twain: My story is tiring

Shania Twain

Shania Twain says reading her new biography left her "exhausted".
The star is currently promoting her book From This Moment On, which documents her turbulent life.
The singer and her ex-husband Robert separated in 2008 after he had an affair with her best friend, Marie-Anne Thiebaud. Shania then married Marie-Anne's ex-husband Frederic Thiebaud in January this year.
Even though the star knows the events of her own life, she was still gripped by the book. She is proud of how honest it is, as she isn't normally so revealing.
"I was exhausted, and I already know my life," she laughed in an interview with the Kyle and Jackie O radio show.
"It's exhausting to read it through; it's a life of extremes. It starts from the beginning to now - very full, very honest. It's unlike me to be so open."
The singer also has a reality TV show Why Not? With Shania Twain on Oprah Winfrey's OWN channel, and was seen speaking to grief counsellor Dr. Gordon Livingston in the latest episode.
Rather than slam her ex in the scenes, she actually ends up praising him.
"He is a wonderful person, a kind person, a beautiful person and a great father," she enthused of the man with whom she has nine-year-old son Eja D'Angelo.
"I guess I am not really ready to let the anger part of our relationship to take over. I have not cried enough I admit that."
Shania also took the time to express how helpful music was in dealing with the break-up. She is a big fan of Welsh songstress Duffy and when her marriage ended in 2008 tracks by the star offered support, as did classic love songs by Etta James and music by Canadian duo RyanDan.
"The album Silence Speaks by the [Canadian] twins known as RyanDan, brought me to my knees in complete, uncontrollable tears and also gave me a feeling of peace and inspiration," she explained.
"I also drew inspiration from Duffy and old classics like Etta James's At Last, as well as my own song Today, the first original song I wrote alone after 14 years of collaborating with Mutt.
