Although former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland has been talking about her upcoming album Here I Am for a while now, it's looking like it's finally going to be released, and a lot sooner than expected.
According to Rap-Up, Kelly's third solo project is headed for store shelves July 26.
After being shelved by Kelly herself last year and not having a solid release date up until now, the project has been bumped up presumably due to the strength of her latest single, "Motivation," which currently sits at No. 1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
This is really good news for Kelly, who's been sitting on the album for almost a year now, waiting on it to be ready. "It's the year of the woman," Kelly told BET.com just after she debuted the Lil Wayne-assisted single "Motivation" on 106 and Park this past April. "And it's all about celebration of women and that's what I really focused on when I was listening for what I wanted on the album. And…we were supposed to release the album last year but I wanted to hold it because I felt like it wasn't done."
Kelly has collaborated with producers/songwriters Rico Love, Tricky Stewart, Dr. Luke, Stargate, Salaam Remi, Jim Jonsin, RedOne, Ester Dean and more to help complete the project.
