DMX Arrested Once Again in Arizona

DMX can't seem to stay out of trouble with the law. The rapper was pulled over and arrested last night [August 24] in Arizona for racing down the road at 102 mph in a 65 mph zone.

According to
TMZ, he was booked for speeding, reckless driving and for having a suspended license in Arizona's Maricopa County.

As previously reported, the troubled rapper, who was recently released from prison, went on record with Arizona's ABC 15 to talk about his struggle with bipolar disorder.

“I used to be really clear on who was what and what characteristics each personality had," he said. "But I don’t know at this point. I’m not even sure there is a difference.… I'm not the person the media portrays me to be. X is the bad guy. That’s not who I am."

Wale Speaks on Rick Ross, Jay-Z and More

Wale was interviewed recently on NBC’s Nitecap, and he dished on his deal with Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group, his relationship with Jay-Z and why his prior deal with Interscope didn’t work out.

Wale, labeled a “socially conscious” rapper by many, defended his alliance with Ross, who’s been criticized for his “trap”-based rhymes and his former career as a corrections officer. "That dude is a genius," said Wale of Ross. "I don't care what anybody say. That's my brother. He's a genius. I've seen him work from the business side, I've seen him work on the street side. People don't know Ross, man. They think, 'Oh, C.O.' I know C.O.s, dog. The dude's gettin' the money doing that other thing. I know that! We come from that. I'm not by any means a trap dude, but I know that. My best friend doin' six, got six left to do."

The D.C. rapper also praised Ross for giving him creative control over his music—and criticized his former label, Interscope, in the process. "That's what the most important thing is: Someone that you can look them in the eye and say, 'I put my heart and soul into this album. I want you to put it out— as is.' I never had that luxury," Wale said. "With my previous situation, people wanted the luxury to say, 'But you didn't do this, but you didn't do that.' ... They tell me 10 things, and I do nine of them, and when their plan didn't work, they blame it on the one thing I didn't do."

Although Wale has been struggling with the music industry for years, supportive words from one of his idols, Jay-Z, have helped him stay motivated. "I was with Jay— I hate to name-drop, but I wanna show my man some love— he mentioned 'Gunplay,' 'I like what "Gunplay" doin'',” Wale said. “Stuff like that makes me...we winning!"

Wale’s new album,
Ambition, is set to be released this fall.

BMI Honors Snoop Dogg With Star-Studded Tribute

It was nothing but a G-thang last night at Hollywood’s Pantages Theater, as a star-studded list of rap luminaries came together to celebrate the career of Snoop Dogg at the 11th Annual BMI Urban Awards.

The West Coast pioneer was honored with the BMI Urban Icon award and a series of performances of his biggest hits by some of hip-hop’s biggest names.
Wiz Khalifa, looking vintage Doggfather in a blue plaid shirt with only the top button buttoned, covered Snoop’s classic duet with Dr. Dre, “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang.” Fellow West Coaster Game rocked “Murder Was the Case”—which seemed appropriate given all the Compton MC’s legal troubles of late. And Nas and the Dogg Pound’s Kurupt and Daz Dillinger brought the crowd to their feet with a high-energy version of “The Next Episode.”

Dr. Dre then presented the BMI Urban Icon Award to his long-time right-hand man Snoop. Even a telepromoter mishap couldn’t throw off the night’s good vibes—Dre read his heartfelt speech off of a piece of paper.

Snoop humbly accepted the award with his own gracious speech, shouting out his wife, Shante Broadus: “I always put you through hell,” he said. “I’ma get that s--- right.” He also gave props to rap’s new wave of hitmakers, including
Drake, whom he told, “You’s a bad motherf---er, man.” And in good news for hip-hop fans, he promised to help Dre finish up his long-delayed, much-anticipated third album, Detox. “Y'all ain’t gotta wait too much longer,” he said. “The Dogg is in the building. We gonna get this s--- right.”

After his speech, Snoop was joined onstage by
Bootsy Collins, Game, Kurupt, Warren G, Daz Dillinger, the Lady of Rage, and former Gap Band front man Charlie Wilson to perform another one of his signature hits, “Who Am I (What’s My Name).” For videos from the event, go to Rap-Up.com

Lady Gaga Mans Up, Lil Wayne Gets Bleeped

Hard as it was for most people to tear away their eyes from Beyonce's belly, those that did probably noticed a few other highlights of the night. It all started with Lady Gaga's opening performance of "You and I" in her most outlandish costume yet--a whiskey swilling, chain-smoking dude called Jo Calderone.

Gaga stayed in character the whole night, including when she went up to collect her award for Best Female Artist and--most awkwardly--when she presented the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award to
Britney Spears. "I used to hang posters of her on my wall and touch myself when I was laying in bed," Jo said, before motioning to re-enact Britney's infamous on-stage kiss with Madonna at the 2003 VMAs.

In the worst-kept secret of the night, dad-to-be
Jay-Z and Kanye West took the stage for a "surprise" performance of their first single, "Otis," from their collabo album Watch the Throne. The duo kept it simple in t-shirts and denim, true to the aesthetic of their buzzworthy video.

Later,
Chris Brown delivered a far less restrained performance of "Beautiful People," complete with mini-tributes to Wu-Tang Clan (with faux martial-arts dancing) and Nirvana (flannel-shirted dancers jumped on trampolines in the background). He capped off his performance by flying into the air, arms outstretched, on invisible wires.
Tyler, the Creator got emotional during his acceptance speech for the Best New Artist award. "Yo, I'm excited as f--- right now. I wanted this sh-- since I was 9," he said, with his entire crew behind him on stage. "I'm about to cry."
Russell Brand kicked off a touching tribute to the late Amy Winehouse, and was joined on stage by Tony Bennett, who shared a video from a recording session he did with Winehouse just a couple of months before she died. The two compared her to jazz legends Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday, and then handed over the stage to Bruno Mars, who performed in her honor.
Lil Wayne closed the show in a white T-shirt and jeans that were barely hanging on. He began with his ballad "How to Love" but quickly switched gears to hard rock, doing knife kicks and thrashing his braids around to a riff from Black Sabbath's "Iron Man." Wayne seemed to temporarily forget he was on primetime and didn't censor any of his lyrics, resulting in a lot of dead air.

Snoop Dogg Shoots For World Record In Retweets

With four million Twitter followers under his belt, rapper Snoop Dogg now wants to accomplish another milestone: a spot in the Guiness Book of World Records for most retweets. The record was unofficially set by Reverend Run in 2010 with his daily Words of Wisdom. On Tuesday, he tweeted, "moment of silence 4 tha world's biggest chronic break. need my twizzles 2 pass this cyber blunt #puffpuffpasstuesdays RT." The goal was to get as many people to retweet the message in 24 hours.

And he didn't stop at Twitter to promote his mission as the rapper also took to Facebook and Ustream. "Hitting four million Twizzles is a big moment for me and I want to thank all my fans for their continued support," Snoop Dogg told AllHipHop.com. "I want to show the world how powerful and influential social media and my fans are, which is why I am attempting to set the world record for the most 'retweets' on Twitter."

Jadakiss: Keep Me Out of

The Yonkers vet clears up rumors about his guest appearance on Lil Wayne's "I'm Good," which seems to take shots at Jay-Z. With the buzz over Lil Wayne's new Jay-Z diss track "It's Good" threatening to break the Internet, Jadakiss took to Twitter to explain his appearance on the song.   The Yonkers vet, who was once signed to Hov's Roc-A-Fella Records, posted two messages last night that made it abundantly clear that he isn't involved in the simmering feud between Weezy and Hov. "Yall hating ass c---suckers better chill...they only sent me a track wit NO verses and I recorded that verse 3 months ago! #leavemeoutofit," he wrote. "When I DISS n----s or have a problem Wit ANY RAPPER I SAY THere [sic] NAMES without hesitation and YALL know this already!"   On Jay-Z's and Kanye West's "H.A.M," Hov raps seems to take a swipe at Weezy and Cash Money CEO Birdman, who infamously (and incorrectly) boasted that Wayne had more money than Jay: "I'm like really half a billi n---a, Really you got baby money / Keep it real with n----s, N----s aint got my lady money." Weezy's "It's Good," which will appear on his upcoming Carter IV, in stores next week, responds to the jab: "Talkin' 'bout baby money, I gotcha baby money / Kidnap your b---- get that how much you love your lady money / I know you fake, n---- / Press your brakes, n---- / I'll take you out, that's a date, n----," Weezy raps. The song also features Drake and Jadakiss, which had many speculating that those two were taking sides in the beef. With Jadakiss claiming Switzerland status, we wonder what Drake will say.

Joe Preps

This past weekend R&B veteran Joe performed for Harlem Day. After a 30 minute performance of some of his biggest hits, including "I Wanna Know," "More and More" and "Why Just Be Friends" he sat down with BET.com to talk about his forthcoming studio album The Good, The Bad, The Sexy. BET.com: Your catalog of hits is one of the best from the 90s and 2000s. What is your favorite song to perform live? Joe: It's pretty much all of them. I mean if they know any song, any song that they know is always good to perform. The hardest shows to do are those that no one knows what you are singing. But when they know it word for word every song is good. You are gearing up to release your 10th album next month. A lot of artists that came up when you did are no longer around. What is your key to longevity in this business? 50% of that is just being humble. The rest is hard work, commitment, dedication. Having a good team around you. Being business savvy and at the same time not losing focus of what really got you involved in the music game in the beginning. Your love for music. I still hold true to that. When I hit the stage I want people to feel something. Which is very important. When I go in the studio, the process of recording is not just for fun. I want to make something that is going to give you goosebumps. We had a chance to preview a couple tracks from the album. One track by the name of "Drink Up" really sticks out. A really sexy record. You've been known for making love making songs but this one goes all the way there. What made you turn up the sexy? I think I'm a little more mature. A little growner now. I'm allowed to say certain things now *laughs*. I'm allowed to get away with certain things. I'm going kinda hard on "Drink Up". It's the only record I really go that hard on. I mean really hard. I'm talking about bussing it wide open. I don't know if you know what I mean by bussing it wide open. That record is bussing it wide open. I love it. It's a beautiful thing. It's grown folks music. We know you don't listen to your own music, so who do you listen to when you are 'bussing it wide open'? Sade. That's number 1. Her greatest hits. She's got the most beautiful collection of music. You just put it on and song after song. I don't know if anyone has the greatest hits Sade but it's the greatest collection of love songs and just vibe. You put it on and it's a wrap. You don't have to be in a, I guess you can say romantic mood for that either. Just on a relaxing vibe. You wanna just chill in the jazucci. Your muscles are sore and you put some Sade on and it's real smooth. I love her. You are really lowkey when it comes to your personal life. No one knows who you are dating or anything. Why do you keep that part of your life separate? It's not a purpose thing. I just don't like to be all up in the blogs. Nothing against blog because I read them as well and I'm on certain sites. But I just don't want to be that guy spreading his world all over. You know just everything I do. If they happen to catch me, no problem. I don't know. Maybe they aren't searching for me. I think it comes with a certain level of success when people really start bringing the cameras out and want to know everything and little detail about you. My fans are very mature and they don't really care about all that. Check out footage of his performance and more from our interview with Joe here. The Good, The Bad, The Sexy hits stores September 27th.

I CAN DECIDE TO SMOKE MYSELF TO HELL.IT'S NOBODY'S BUSINESS.STAR ACTRESS TONTO DIKEH

Tonto Dikeh, (born June 9, 1985) is a Nigerian actress from Rivers State and is of the Ikwerre tribe.
Dikeh, from a family of seven, lost her mother at the age of three.
In 2005 she competed against other contestants on a reality TV show called The Next Movie Star; she was the first runner up.
Dikeh's appearance on the show was as a means of getting closer to the "big time", she says, and her start in the Nigerian movie industry came soon after.
Dikeh says that after her second movie Holy Cross, more movie directors and producers were willing to cast her, and she has appeared in scores of movies since. Sexual content in Dikeh's roles, particularly in 'Dirty Secret' has led to criticism by some Nigerians, represented in Nollywood by actor Charles Okafor.
Dikeh confirms she is in a relationship and is very happy. In January 2011 she took part in a charity fashion show in Lagos with Banky W., Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and others.
In a interview recently, Tonto speaks smoking, seminude acting and more, excerpts:
How true is the rumor that you are a heavy smoker and can’t do without cigarette?
We are just so shallow minded. How does that come into the way I act? Excuse me (voice raised). That is my personal life. If I want to smoke, I handle a stick of cigarette and I smoke it hard. It is my life I can decide to smoke myself to hell. It’s nobody’s business.
Yeah! Just like you were smoking before this interview started?
It’s left for me to think about it. It’s left for me to continue. How has smoking affected my acting job? It’s nobody business and it doesn’t affect what you see on TV.
Many said your smoking habit has made you become asthmatic.
(Laughs out loudly) I think my health problems have nothing to do with my job. If I have a health problem then I have a health problem. It’s not something that is meant for the public or the world.
How true is it also that you are into lesbianism?
Aha! There is nothing that is surprising to me anymore. I don’t live my life based on what people say about me.
You acted in the movie, ‘Dirty Secret,’ alongside Muna Obiekwe and Jibola Dabo. The movie has generated so much criticism. How have you taken it?
I felt it but I felt it in a very positive way. It really helped my career. It helped me with my job and my personality as a woman. The movie has been highly talked about and it even got me more popularity. It was really crazy to be part of it. I got paid to interpret a role as an actress and I did it perfectly well. I don’t give a f**k about what anybody is saying out there.
Some critics felt your seminude role in the movie was totally African?
I don’t know what the Africa role is. I don’t know about being an African or not. I am a human being and an actress. That is all I know. Being an African is not part of my job.

MEE | 8/26/2011 1:43:30 AM Somebody should be very ashamed
from the stable of NFC to write this report to the public. That somebody
is Akinnagbe Akintomide, the writer of this report. He is the one that
exposed and reported this guy, Muka, to the BIG BOYS OF THE CITY
that paid him a visit. He actually committed this felony when he wrote
on this web page, few weeks back, about how Muka fortified his multi
billion naira new house with series of strong gadgets that will be difficult
for anybody to brake; he is the one that reported Muka to the world
about the uncountable millions of naira that the hard working guy

it in this webpage then that " I will not be surprised if the BIG BOYS

Muka was not killed. Akinnagbe Akintomide should be held
responsible as a result of his various damaging and unfounding
reports about people, especially the 'Nigerian Celebrities' in this webpage.

No evil hand can disrupt my daughter’s impending marriage

Mercy Johnson has definitely taken the center stage of media attention with her impending marriage shrouded in so much controversy and uncertainty. With each passing day there seem to be a different twist, and MJ seems quite confused about the whole brouhaha.
Despite of all the ups and downs however, the marriage is coming on August 27th as scheduled, and for the first time Mercy’s mother has spoken out regarding what has transpired in the last few weeks. Below is the interview she granted: Madam, are you indeed Mercy Johnson’s mother? Yes I am. Mrs Elizabeth Johnson, mother of Mercy Johnson. What are your plans towards her marriage amidst these controversies? I don’t have any plans now, God is our town planner, I put my trust in Him. He is the one that raised her to where she is today, before she met Odi God was aware, everything happening today are not unknown to Him. My belief is that if God assigns Odi of which I know He has done for her, as a husband, the gate of hell can’t prevail over it. God that made their paths cross know their future, present and past, whosoever stands anywhere looking for the downfall of the innocent girl will face the battle of God. Madam, did Odi inform you he was married as is generally reported in the media? Odi isn’t married, he told our family, that when he got to Italy, the lady was his girlfriend and she bore him a child, later, Lovely met a guy and followed him to Canada and she bore him that boy, the woman herself confirmed it. We are not aware of other things because Odi has said the truth and when we asked him how long they separated, he said for the past 5 years. Let us say the truth and let the devil be ashamed. I have told my daughter to let the will of God be done in her life. As for rumour mongers saying Mercy has scattered her home, she is the one who scattered her home because if she loves Odi she wouldn’t have followed another man and even giving him a child, the man is late now, so they want to set my innocent daughter up and spoil her day of joy and I know God will never agree with them. Why do you think this is a planned work to disrupt Mercy’s wedding? There are people who watch you without you knowing, out of all the children I have, Mercy is unique, I can never deny her anytime any day, she is gifted and God has used her to bring the family up, so if anybody is stepping on my joy, he or she will face the wrath of God cos one stupid person who claims to be a man of God said in the newspapers that if her mother is reasonable enough she will make her cancel the wedding. The man is not a born-again cos if he is and isn’t deaf and blind, he would have asked how a woman who left her husband five years ago now shows up threatening with fire and brimstone, this definitely is a set up but as many as run their mouths against the Johnson’s family will face the wrath of God because we are innocent. Did you have any inkling at her inception or birth that she would be this famous? No, we are Christians in our family, we hand our children to God and after that it is sealed up. It is God who made her what she is today, when she was young, she used to play and make a lot of people laugh, she is very free, that made us to know that she had a brighter future ahead, she was the head girl in secondary school, she always come first in sports, dress rehearsals so I see no reason why she shouldn’t excel in her career. No evil hands or thought against Mercy can work; nobody can overcome her I Jesus name. (Father cuts in) I have been reading stories tarnishing our image, imagine somebody wrote that I said I have cancelled the wedding, when did I say so? We should have the fear of God in whatever we do. Like this Lovely of a person, if she is actually the wife of Odi and my daughter is struggling to take her away from her marriage, I will pray to God and tell my daughter not to go into another person’s home but the truth is my daughter knew Odi in 2009, if Odi is so important to her why must she leave him for another man; now, she wants to come back saying somebody is snatching her husband from her, I can phone Odi’s father and they will tell you they don’t even know her. There was also a report that Mercy has run away from home? How can they say she has run away from home, I saw her this morning, we were together. Madam, are you saying the wedding is still going on as planned? God is a God of plans, He will bring out everything perfectly, we depend and look up to Him, we have put everything into his hands and nobody can change the plan of GodWhat would the party be like, is it going to be church affair or with some traditional touches? In our area, we do traditional, court and church weddings. I did the three when I was getting married to her father; it is the same pattern that we will follow. You don’t attend the same church with mercy? No we don’t, we attend Pentecostal church, Mercy and her elder sister used to go to The Redeemed Christian of God before she started attending the Christ Embassy What are her church plans for the wedding? I don’t have anything to do with the church cos we don’t attend Christ Embassy; all I know is that God says her marriage will stand. Mercy is not the first person people will plan evil against. Our God is a God of battle. She has never soiled her hands in anything devilish. Many people mistaken her ole in movies to be her person, she has been given different names, some say she wants to marry because she is pregnant, I asked her if she was pregnant and she said she was in her period that she was going to show me. So by your words, the wedding is going as planned?By the grace of God, with all the powers of God. I Elizabeth , I say nothing though I have nobody to assist me, I have God, nothing will stop my daughter’s wedding. Let this be a lesson for every woman who doesn’t want their husbands to be their husbands. If you don’t respect what you have when you lose it you will be crying for nothing because she lost her husband and Mercy took over, so nothing can happen. She has lost her husband, Mercy has taken over, let her go and die.
