Uniben Final Year Student Get 19 Years Jail TermAn Asaba high court presided over by Justice T.C. Makwe have sentensed one Chima Anthony Akpalaba, a final year law student of Uniben to 19 years impreasonment for kidnaping a 7 years old child – The daughter of the Chief Accountant, Government House Asaba in February of 2009.
He bagged five years imprisonment for conspiracy to commit kidnapping; five years for kidnapping; another five years for child stealing, two years for demanding property with menances and two years belong a secret cult group, thereby totaling nineteen years. The sentence would however run con-currently.
The convict along with his co-travellers in crime had demand for N150 million ransom from the father of the girl but was arrested at a hideout in Okpanam by men of the State Security Service SSS.Thanks Vanguard
