According to Bet.com Although it may seem like his feud with Drake is cooling off, Common
maintains that it still may not be over. The rap legend explained that he's still prepared to "destroy" the Toronto rapper if necessary and sheds some more light on why the beef began in the first place in a new interview with Bossip.
"I really honestly don't know how things will end," Common shared. "I just want to put out there that it's not a thing where I don't like him as a human being or like I got something against him personally. That's not what it is. You dissed me on record. I know you felt a certain way about certain things so if you dissed me so I had to say what I had to say. If you come at me, I'ma fight until the end. I'm not talking about physical. I'm talking about emceeing."
Com said that he's confident going toe-to-toe lyrically with any rapper, no matter their stature or lack thereof.
"I feel like if you put me in the ring with anybody on the mic, I'ma destroy them," he adds. "I don't care who it is. That's how I feel. At the end of the day, that's how every MC should feel."
As we've previously reported, tension between the pair first began when the Chicago veteran released his song "Sweet," which angrily dismisses "soft" rappers who sing. In an interview with Sirius XM's Hip Hop Nation, Common said he decided to take things to the next level after Drake responded — first at a concert in Las Vegas, and then on Rick Ross's recent single "Stay Schemin.'"
Common has gone on record to assure that their beef is not personal. However, he's now making it clear that this doesn't mean this lyrical battle royale won't heat back up. Stay locked in to see where this one goes next.
