sources Bet.com A restaurant in Georgia has been forced to apologize after a sandwich
apparently inspired by Chris Brown and Rihanna's domestic violence case was found to be in poor taste, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Chops & Hops of Watkinsville called the specialty sandwich the "Black and Bleu."
Chops & Hops thought it could boost traffic by tweeting about the sandwich, but the publicity turned out to bring more scorn than hungry customers. After a flurry of negative reaction tweets, the restaurant distanced itself from the remarks.
“@chrisbrown, @rihanna and us teamed up for a award winning celebrity sandwich,” the restaurant's Twitter account had read. “Chris Brown won’t beat you up for eating this unless your name starts with a R and ends with A.”
Later, the owners of Chops & Hops began the damage control, stating that they are no supporters of domestic violence.
“The owners of C&H would like to make sure everyone knows that we and our staff DO NOT SUPPORT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE,” another tweet read. "Many of us have been affected by domestic violence in some manner and realize that this is no joke.”
The restaurant has since pulled the sandwich from the menu indefinitely. The ingredients were said to include Caribbean spiced marinated sliced rib-eye blackened, bleu cheese, sliced tomato, silver Lamborghini onions and shredded Romaine.
