Beyonce covered the Bee Gees’ song “Emotion” with Destiny’s Child, and the singer recently took to her website to express her sorrow for the recent loss of Bee Gees’ member Robin Gibb.
“The Bee Gees were an early inspiration for me, Kelly and Michelle,” she wrote. “We loved their songwriting and beautiful harmonies. Recording their classic song, “Emotion,” was a special time for Destiny’s Child. Sadly we lost Robin Gibb this week. My heart goes out to his brother Barry and the rest of his family. Love, B.”
“Emotion” appeared on the 2001 Destiny’s Child album Survivor, and was released as the fourth single from the album in November of that year.
Robin Gibb died on May 20 after a battle with cancer. He was 62-years-old. The singer co-founded the Bee Gees with his twin brother Maurice along with their older brother Barry. Maurice passed away in 2003.
