Recently it was announced that Jay-Z would both headline and curate Budweiser’s Made in
America Music Festival this year, and now he has announced that D’Angelo, Odd Future and Maybach Music Group’s Rick Ross, Wale and Meek Mill will join him at the event.
The eclectic festival will be held during Labor Day Weekend (September 1-2) at Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park, MTV reports.
D’Angelo will perform a highly anticipated set, and has recently been scheduling new shows for the first time in 10 years and speaking about his return to music. Other notable artists in the extensive lineup include Miik Snow, Calvin Harris, Rita Ora, Pearl Jam and Skrillex.
At a press conference announcing the event, Jay-Z explained how he chooses lineups for festivals like these. “Whenever I enter into a project, I try to hit on some touch points,” he said. “The first thing is: Is it great? The second one is: Is it gonna push the culture forward?”
