T.I. will be expanding his acting resume as he appears in the upcoming Universal Pictures comedy “Identity Theft.”
The rapper, who has been appearing in more and more film roles recently, will play a bounty hunter in the film, Who Got That Role reports. He will be searching for characters played by the movie’s other stars, Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy.
Thus far, T.I.’s acting career has included roles in “American Gangsters,” “ATL” and “Takers.” He also has been moving in to television work, as well. He has a VH1 reality show called “Family Hustle,” which he stars in with his wife and kids, and he also will be costarring in a new upcoming Kelsey Grammer series called “Boss.”
“ATL” was the rapper’s first foray in to acting, and the 2006 film was loosely based on his life growing up in Atlanta. T.I. has recently signed a deal with WME management to manage his acting career, and has expressed that he would like to leave the music industry to focus solely on acting. His eighth studio album, Trouble Man, is expected to be released on September 4 of this year.
