Tamar Braxton Dishes Her Beauty Secrets

Tamar Braxton
Tamar Braxton’s bubbly personality and hilarious outbursts have definitely made her the one to watch on WeTV reality series Braxton Family Values. The baby of five famous sisters revealed that she’s definitely spoiled when it comes to her coveted skincare and makeup. She dished to us some of her beauty secrets that keep her looking dabomb.com.
Confidence,” Tamar says makes any woman beautiful and she definitely knows a thing or two about that. “Doesn’t matter what you have on, or even if you look a hot mess, if you feel great, you look great.”  She listed “brains” as her second criteria. “You may not have the best look, but some smart convo will change the way people look at you.”
Of course, sole confidence doesn’t stop the Braxton sister from getting her girlie goods. Having incredibly sensitive skin, she uses Dove Soap for Sensitive Skin and Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque to tighten pores and repair breakouts. “My skin is very sensitive, so when I get glammed, afterwards I rush to take it off. My skin will act a fool!” To cut down on inflammation, Tamar says she and sister Toni, who’s also prone to breakouts, use ice to cool their itchy skin.
Though Tamar does have skin issues, she doesn’t want anyone to get the idea that she doesn’t adore makeup. “I love to get glammed up and when I do, I am a turned up drag queen! I am a tranny!” she enthusiastically shares. She’s obsessed with false lashes and turns to Bobbi Brown for great coverage. “Lashes are just as important as your heels,” she tells us. Her must have splurge is La Mer “The Lip Balm,” which she says “saves my lips from getting chapped and cracked. That’s not hot!”

The slight beauty junkie did shock us when she revealed that she wished she could slightly alter her looks. “I wish I could get botox!” Tamar exclaims. Due to her bout with problematic skin, doctors have warned her against getting the cosmetic procedure. “I make way too many facial expressions, so the way I feel shows up in my face. I would like to constrain my face. Get it a little toned!”

Gotta love Tamar.

Sam Loco resurfaces in a new movie titled “I’ll Take My Chances”
The death of one of the finest Nollywood talent that Nigeria has ever produced, Sam Loco Efe was a big blow to the play-acting profession. His death saw many opened up on how it would be difficult for the country to ever have a fine actor like the locomotive Sam, as he was fondly called by friends.

What is the flip side to controversies on Tonto Dikeh?

What is the flip side to controversies on Tonto Dikeh?
Tonto Dikeh sure knows how to stay on top of her game. In spite of her seemingly derogatory disposition as Nollywood’s controversial screen diva and s** symbol, it is indeed commendable that the actress is about to fete 100 most brilliant students from both private and public schools in Lagos, Nigeria.
On why the actress who recently delved into music is reaching out to these students, she says, “The act of rewarding brilliant students with scholarships and through other means which used to be very prevalent in those days seems to have gone into extinction. There are thousands of intelligent students who need to be shown lots of love, if not for anything but for their outstanding successes. The idea is to appreciate them in any little way I can and this Christmas period provides an excellent opportunity.”
For those who probably think that ‘s**’ is all there is to this sultry actress, Tonto has decided to chart a new course for herself after the weeks of controversies over her recently-acquired tattoo that covers over 70 percent of her back.
Her reward project for the students is billed to hold on December 10 at the Troy Bar and Restaurants, Lagos, Nigeria.

Rukky Sanda reacts forcefully to the numerous allegations against her

Rukky Sanda reacts forcefully to the numerous allegations against her
She is one of the most controversial acts in Nollywood but still walks head high as a popular Nollywood actress-cum-producer.
Although her popularity may not be on account of her acting prowess but she has just remained in the news over time. That she is an adventurous and outgoing actress, coupled with her beauty, makes her a name that keeps popping up on the scene.
In a recent interview, she opens up like never before.
Those saying that no actress can make headway without having a man behind her are insane. I don’t think they have any brain at all.

What is all the fuss between Genevieve Nnaji and Stephanie Okereke?
If information at our disposal is anything to write home about, then the relationship between two actresses Genevieve Nnaji and Stephanie Okereke has got messier.
It was reported that the two friends are in feud over access to the Presidency and presidential aides in Nigeria.
According to source, the rift started during the Nigerian President’s GEJ campaign period when Nollywood started its fever pitch romance with politics.
We gathered that Stephanie was the arrowhead of the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s campaign contact group with the film industry.

Kanye West Leads 2011 Grammy Awards Nominations

The race to the 2011 Grammy Awards is officially underway, with this year's nominees announced last night in a star-studded telecast. Leading the pack this year with seven nominations is Kanye West, who is followed closely by Adele, Foo Fighters and Bruno Mars in a three-way tie with six nods a piece.

It's the second year in a row that a hip hop artist has topped the nominations list, after Eminem had the honor last year. West was snubbed in the awards' most significant category, however, with neither of his nominated albums, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Watch The Throne with Jay-Z, making the short list for Album of The Year. That list includes Rihanna’s Loud, Bruno Mars’ Doo-Wops & Hooligans, Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, Adele’s 21 and The Foo Fighters' Wasting Light.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s All Things Fall Apart to Premiere on BET and on Areme-007

BET Star Cinema, Celebrity News, 50 Cent,Things Fall Apart

He’s played a drug dealer, a gun runner and a corrupt detective. He even played a character loosely based on himself. Now Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson once again returns to film in a role rarely attempted by hip hop moguls: a cancer-stricken college football player. Making its world broadcast premiere this Saturday on BET, All Things Fall Apart has been receiving generous amounts of praise from the media for Jackson’s drastically different role. Mario Van Peebles, who directed and starred in the movie, told BET.com back in September, “He [50 Cent] really has a natural sense for acting.”

Oprah’s School Produces First Class of Graduates

Oprah Winfrey, South Africa, abuse, Mary J Blige, Mariah Carey, student graduates

From her groundbreaking talk show to her book clubs to movies and her own network, Oprah Winfrey has done it all. Now, she’s officially made her contribution to the next generation of scholars by producing her very first student dream team. The Washington Post is reporting that the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy’s first graduating class is made up of 72 young women and the soon-to-be former pupils have all been accepted to universities in both South Africa and the United States. Winfrey spent $40 million dollars of her own money outfitting her girls’ campus with computer and science labs, a library and wellness center. Not one youth who attended had to pay tuition and most of them came from struggling communities all still reeling from generations of apartheid.
Despite its many triumphs, the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy hasn’t been without controversy. A former dormitory matron for the school who was accused of abusing teens was acquitted last year. And in early 2011, an OWLA student gave birth to a newborn that was found dead. Both stories made headlines around the world.

Winfrey, who has made regular visits to her school since it opened in 2007, will be in attendance for her school’s graduation ceremony in January when the South African school year ends.

Rihanna Goes Platinum Blonde for “You Da One” Video Shoot

Rihanna swapped her long, honey brown locks for a platinum blonde bob in her video for “You Da One” to top off a look that’s equally turned up.

The starlet continues to flaunt her penchant for mixing edgy pieces with a dash of tomboy and a dash of sexy. The first pictures from the London set show her in a look that was inspired by the 1971 Stanley Kubrick film A Clockwork Orange. There’s the bowler hat, dramatic bottom eye lashes, suspenders and cane that give a nod to the cult classic’s character “Alex DeLarge.” She added her own spice to the costume with a tight, white tank, butt cheek-exposing jean shorts, graphic tights from Leggings by Boy London and white sneakers. Get a peek of her look in the video above, courtesy of Gigwise.

Hate or love her style, one thing's for sure: it’s never stale! The video was directed by Melina Matsoukas, who also directed Rihanna’s “We Found Love” mini-movie, which drew controversy for its imagery. Rihanna’s currently topping the charts with her sixth studio album, Talk that Talk, and has been nominated for fourGrammys, including “Album of the Year” for last year’s Loud.

FEMI KUTI GRABS THIRD GRAMMY AWARD NOMINATION

Nigerian musician and respected Afrobeat singer Femi Kuti has been nominated at the 54th edition of the prestigious Grammy Awards.
Femi picked up his third ever nomination in the World Music Category for his ‘Africa for Africa‘ album last night Wednesday, November 30, 2011 when the list was unveiled at the ‘Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!‘ in Los Angeles, US.
In 2003, Femi, eldest son of late Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti picked up his first ever Grammy Award nomination but lost out to  Panamanian salsa singer Rubén Blades. He similarly lost in 2010  when he was nominated in the same category. US banjo player Bela Fleck walked away with the award.
His recent nomination sees him up against Latin/Roots music band AfroCubism, South African male choral group Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and Malian band Tinariwen.
‘We’re extremely happy, and hoping they give him this time around‘ Femi’s elder sister and Positive band veteran Yeni Kuti told us this morning over the phone. ‘It’s his third time and he has really worked hard‘. Femi Kuti himself, currently touring Europe, is unreachable for now. ‘I can’t say if he’ll attend or not, but I hope he will. He did not attend last year‘ Yeni says.
US rapper Kanye West leads the pack with seven nods, making it the second year in row a Hip-hop artiste has reached that feat. (Eminem topped the nominees list in 2010, with 10nods. He walked away with two wins).
Kanye is closely followed by UK singer Adele who is tied with Foo Fighters andBruno Mars with six nods each. But the controversial rapper-producer was, surprisingly missing on the biggest award category ‘Album of the Year’. Other notable acts that missed out on the big prize are Taylor Swift and veteran singer Tony Bennett.
