Def Jam Founders to Celebrate New Book

Def Jam founders Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons to celebrate new book
Def Jam Founders Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin will celebrate a new book titled "Def Jam Recordings: The First 25 Years of the Last Great Recording Label" with an intimate discussion next month. The art book, which was written by Def Jam publicist and hip-hop historian Bill Adler, features stories, artifacts, and iconic images showing how the music label has influenced pop culture over the years.

Simmons and Rubin will be present to explain portions of the book and talk about their experiences as founders of the label. This will be a special treat for the audience as Rubin, who heads Columbia Records, rarely speaks to the public.

The event will be held on October 15 at the Stephen A Schwarzman Building in New York City and will be hosted by the New York Public Library's Paul Holdengraber. For tickets, visit

Nicki Minaj to Headline Solo Tour Next Year

Nicki Minaj to headline solo tour
Nicki Minaj fans might soon get to see their star on the road, this time headlining her own solo tour. The Young Money rapper has had a busy year since debuting her debut album Pink Friday in late 2010. First there was Lil Wayne's "I Am Still Music" tour which was then followed by an opening stint for Britney Spears" "Femme Fatale" tour that just wrapped up in August. So basically it's high time the colorful diva set out on her own.

On Monday, gossip blogger
Perez Hilton asked Minaj about her future touring plans over Twitter.

"When are you going on your solo headlining tour???" Hilton asked. "We Barbz are hungry!!!!"
"Lmao. Top of the year babez!" she tweeted in reply.

So far that's the only bit of info she and her Young Money label have dished out on this supposed solo tour, but if her performances in the previous tours are any indication, it's bound to be fun and over-the-top. Bet.com

Genevieve represents for the yearly London Fashion Week

Genevieve represents for the yearly London Fashion Week
It’s London Fashion Week and while everyone else is posing in the front row or sneaking off to the post-catwalk parties, we’re here to give you all the goss on what goes down.
Kristian Aadnevik lit up Pall Mall last night with his Spring/Summer 2011 show at The Athenaeum, with celebrity guests including Hofit Golan and Genevieve Nnaji.
OK.co.uk took a sneaky peak backstage to speak to the models, the designer himself – who dressed Cheryl Cole for X Factor last year – and London Fashion Week’s top hairdresser. But the big style news seems to be that nude is back for next year so there’s plenty of opportunity for recycling this year’s rags. Hurrah!

Fake Chris Brown Show in Vancouver: Fraud?

Chris Brown show in Vancouver a fraud
Team Breezy isn't gonna like this one bit. Chris Brown's name was allegedly used by a phony agent to set up—and collect a $25,000 advance for—a fake show in Vancouver.

According to
TMZ, Brown's legal team sent a cease-and-desist letter to EJ Media Group, accusing the company of fraudulently presenting itself as a booking agent in order to book a November 10 concert in Vancouver.

The show was announced to the public yesterday—prompting Breezy to tweet, "The Vancouver show is a FAKE!"

Brown's rep says they found out about the phony gig when Pacific Coliseum, the Vancouver venue, got in touch with them—and that the venue had already wired EJ Media Group a $25,000 fee to secure the show. Ouch.

Brown's cease and desist letter demands that EJ Media return the money, among other things.

But the plot thickens. EJ Media Group in New York City contacted TMZ to insist that it isn't involved in the fake show scam. A rep for the company pointed out that Brown's letter was sent to a Broadway address and that they're located on Fifth Avenue. In other words, the EJ Media Group that Brown is hitting up isn't them. The rep says that the company is currently trying to figure out if someone else is illegally using their name.

Wale Releases 'Lotus Flower Bomb' With Miguel

Wale is inching ever closer to the release of his long-prepped debut album Ambition and enticing his female fans along the way.

On Wednesday (Sept. 28), the Maybach Music MC released the tentatively titled cut "Lotus Flower Bomb," which may also be called "Body Work," featuring a silky chorus by R&B singer-songwriter Miguel.

"Flower bomb, let me guess your favorite fragrance," Wale rhymes over the slow beat peppered with quick electric chords. "Let me guess you got that bomb, I'm trying to detonate you."

And of course, no female-driven rap song is complete without a softly sung chorus to bring it home.

"I'm living in a fantasy, I feel it when you dance with me," Miguel croons.

Wale's first album Ambition is scheduled to hit shelves on November 1.

Stella Damascus denies relationship with Nigerian Governor

Stella Damascus denies relationship with Nigerian Governor
Another relationship allegation is trailing star actress Stella Damasus and many fans do not know what to believe.
The actress, who is not new to scandals, is being speculated to be in a sizzling romance with Rivers State governor, His Excellency Rotimi Amaechi, according to nigeriafilms.com.
The romance, grapevine reports said, started sometime ago when the actress needed the governor’s help. And the mother of two, the website alleged, has been benefiting from the romance which started not too long ago.
Further speculations said she also took another Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw to meet the handsome and generous governor, but Kate was rumoured to have gone behind Stella to meet with the governor.
However, Stella was reported to have denied the allegation.
“We gathered further that Stella felt bad about Kate’s secret meeting with the governor and she believed that the governor might have started dating her as well. During our investigations, this reporter called Stella Damasus on phone on September 7, to react to the speculation about her liaison with the governor and Kate Henshaw and she reacted, thus ‘I’ve not met His Excellency, Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi before, I’ve only heard of his name, I wonder why people kept circulating false story about me’,” the website said.

Steph Nora settles copyright case with Nigerian music sensation P-Square

Steph Nora settles copyright case with Nigerian music sensation P-Square
A couple of months ago, actress Steph Nora pointed fingers at Nigerian music sensation P-Square of stealing material from one of the tracks in her yet-to-be released debut album. Now, according to their respective managers, they’ve resolved the issue amicably and subsequently issued the following statements:
From Steph-Nora’s manager, Ope Banwo:
There is no case again. The matter has been resolved. They’ve settled and I believe it’s over. They are friends.
From P-Square’s PR person, Bayo Adefu:
P-Square never had any problem with Steph Nora in the first place because they were surprised to read all she said in the media. Listen to both songs and you will realize there’s no similarity
Based on the statement by especially the PR person from P-Square, why did the case keep peddling if the issue of copyright was never pertinent? Do you agree?
