sources Bet.com The stars will be coming out in L.A. this weekend for the 2012 Academy
Awards, but one household name present at the ceremony will be working his magic behind the scenes. As previously reported, Pharrell has been tapped to orchestrate the music of the event along with renowned film composer Hans Zimmer, and the super producer recently sat down with media personality Miss Info to talk about the ins and outs of the gig.
“As a child, watching the Academy Awards every year, that’s the most prestigious thing that you could see. So with the actual ceremony, the sound needs to be that much better," he said. "It’s the assistance to the visual, so it has to be right.”
Though Pharrell acknowledged that most people don't think "music" when they think of the Academy Awards, he pointed out that subtlety, in this case, is actually the point.
"That’s what let’s you know that the music was perfect, because it didn’t get in the way of the emotion,” he said. "[It's like] when you're making music for a film...literally the track, like the track of a roller coaster, needs to contour where the director wants the emotion of the viewer to go."
