sources freshlikedougie.com Jay-Z is always under the microscope for things, and as of lately
the rapper and media mogul has come under fire for his own personal scholarship foundation, The Shawn Carter Foundation. He’s thrown a couple of fundraising benefits for the foundation to raise money, but reports are now being shared that Jigga has only contributed $6,000 of his own dollars (in 2010).

Jay’s rep hasn’t noted whether or not the rap star has given anything of his own since 2010, but Jay has claimed to have “provided office support, overhead support, Mrs. Gloria Carter’s 100% effort and time, computers, FedEx expenses, accounting, and treasury function support. This was at no cost to the charity.”

His 2011 benefit for Scholarship Fund donators contributed over $1.25 million for children to get a great education that they may not otherwise be able to afford.

Even though money makes the world go ’round, Global adviser Trevor Neilsen shares Jay-Z’s importance in getting the donations and popularity of things going. “Jay-Z’s power to make a difference on these issues does not lie on his checkbook; it’s about his ability to make things cool, his ability to mobilize young people.”
