Summer is pretty much upon us all at this point, and the BET awards are coming back
sooner than we can shake a stick at. But the nominees this year happen to be a bit more exciting than the previous one, because your fan favorites are the ones leading the pack.

Of course last Summer was the season of Bey, and with her return came a whole new respect from her fans, and even a complete 180 in her life. She became a mother. This of course catapulted her onto a whole new level that only Beyoncé could achieve, but she’s not the only one nominated for multiple awards.

Kanye West is actually at the head of the class, with 7 nominations in his respective categories. Beyoncé will be up against her boys Jay and Ye for video of the year, and they’re likely going to bring home some trophies between the three of them. Bey’s other half, and the other half of “The Throne”– Jay-Z, is also up for 5 awards in 2012, making this trio one hell of a force to be reckoned with at this year’s show.

The 2012 BET Awards is set to air July 1st, with Samuel L. Jackson set to host this year’s festivities. Check out the nominees in their respective categories below.
