Will Lady Gaga be the first celebrity to reign supreme in the social networking space? Mark Zuckerberg
took Facebook public just days ago, Instagram sold to Facebook, and now there’s word spreading like wildfire that Lady Gaga is getting into the game of social networking. But apparently, the site will be focused on more of the fan based community than just your run of the mill social site.

It’s dubbed “Little Monsters,” and although it’s in its beta stages at the moment, We’re sure Gaga and her 25 million strong Twitter fan base will have no problem dominating in another online arena.

Gaga may have split with her creative director and choreographer Laurie Ann Gibson, but this venture looks to be backed by her manager (Troy Carter) and his latest startup, Backplane. “Little Monsters” will be the guinea pig site for the rest of the tech spaces that he’s looking to create, and Mashable shares that there will be elements of existing social bookmarking sites (think Pinterest and Reddit) incorporated into the “Little Monsters” online community.

Right now, the Gaga partially funded niche is by invite only; and there’s no telling just what it will grow to by just word of mouth… er, internet. We’ll have to explore and see what really makes it different and more worthwhile than all the rest.
